The World and Inhabitants of Galena

Today we’re going to show you the planet of Galena and a select few of its inhabitants. As you will see over the coming months Galena-4 is a beautiful, paradise-like planet bustling with life. All kinds of life forms call this natural utopia their home. The planet is dominated by one Pangea-like proto-continent that is divided in several different regions - each with its own perils and beauty. See the first three of them after the break.

The Green Oceans

The first place to be explored by the Settlers of Galena were the wide grasslands they called the Green Oceans. These endlessly open lands are perfect for settling, because every approaching creature can be spotted easily and in time. Most of the people on Galena live here; this is also the government’s main operation base. In this concept of the Green Oceans below you can see that strong winds in combination with the vast plains there grant the perfect circumstances for the use of wind energy.

The Forest Belt   

Some settlers tried to move to more remote places like the Forest Belt, which lies directly south of the Green Oceans. In most of the cases, they didn’t last long in these jungle-like woods, but some of them managed to live there in bigger groups, building habitats in the tree tops. The forests are often encountered by fogs which upwell from the countless toxic swamps. At these times, it’s not a good idea to go for a walk there, unless you don’t love your life. Take a look for yourself, here is a quick concept of the gloomy Forest Belt:

Galena Plane

Imagine the whole planet of Galena being a prehistoric world, like earth had been billions of years ago. On Galena there exists only one giant continent with large inland lakes. One of them is the odd but very dangerous Galena Plane. It’s not deep at all - you could actually walk through it easily if it weren’t for some strange spots. Below the plane there’s a thin surface of soil covering a giant submontane ocean. Imagine walking across a frozen lake with a thin ice layer. And sea monsters below that you never saw before and don’t want to see either. Here’s an impression of the Galena Plane:

(Some of the) Creatures of Galena

Countless creatures live on Galena - life forms no one ever dared to imagine. Before the settlers arrived there, they couldn’t imagine this diversity of species, not even in their wildest dreams. The only problem is that mankind always thought of itself being the dominating race. On Galena they’re not. See below some creatures that you might have seen in our teasers and some brand new ones out of the Aqua and Flora species.
